Samalaju Bintulu- 7th November 2025 We’re thrilled to share highlights from our recent short course on workplace safety, held in PFA Training Room 02, Admin Building. This engaging briefing focused on the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Safe Dress Code and Body Accessories Application for all on-site workers.

Organized by our dedicated Safety Department, the session emphasized the critical role of appropriate attire and accessories in preventing accidents and ensuring a secure environment. Key takeaways included:

– Dress Code Essentials: Maintaining clean, well-fitting clothing to avoid hazards like loose sleeves getting caught in machinery or restricting movement. No singlets, short pants, or torn clothing in high-risk areas such as furnaces, GCP, sinter plants, or warehouses. Long hair must be properly tied up and secured under a hairnet or cap when working near rotating parts or conveyors.

– Body Accessories Guidelines: Minimizing jewelry and accessories like bracelets, necklaces, earrings, rings, or long nail extensions, which can pose risks in operational zones. Only retractable lanyards are permitted for items like ID cards to prevent entanglement.

The briefing also featured real-world accident examples and practical solutions, underscoring why these measures are vital for everyone’s well-being. Our Safety Team outlined enforcement steps, including on-the-spot advice for first-time non-compliance and corrective actions for repeat offenders.

At PFA, safety is our top priority, and this course reinforced our commitment to a hazard-free workplace. A big thank you to all participants for their active involvement—your dedication helps keep our team safe!

Stay tuned for more updates on upcoming training sessions. For details on our safety protocols, reach out to our PFA QHSSEFM Department.
