Roaring into 2026: PFA Welcomes Prosperity with Festive Lion Dance Celebration
BINTULU, Sarawak – 19th February 2026
The thunderous beat of drums and the vibrant clash of cymbals filled the air as Pertama Ferroalloys (PFA) hosted its annual SUPP Lion Dance Performance. Held at the PFA Admin Building, this high-energy event marked a symbolic start to the year, focused on unity, prosperity, and cultural appreciation.
A Distinguished Gathering of Leadership
The celebration was graced by the presence of YB Johnny Pang Leong Ming, State Assembly Member of N.68 Tanjong Batu. Representing PFA Top Management, Vice Chairman Mr. Yuki Nakamura joined the festivities, welcoming the guests and participating in the traditional ceremonies that highlight PFA’s deep roots in the Bintulu community.
The event brought together PFA staff and the talented SUPP Youth (Newbees) Lion Dance Troupe for a grand performance featuring six majestic lions. The festivities also included a special appearance by the “God of Wealth” and a spectacular fireworks display, boosting morale across the organization.
Beyond Tradition: Our Commitment to SDGs
At PFA, cultural celebrations are an extension of our core corporate values. This event was strategically aligned with our commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities: By hosting this performance, PFA actively participates in preserving the local traditions and cultural identity of Bintulu. It demonstrates our respect for the local community’s social fabric and our support for Intangible Cultural Heritage.
SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth: PFA ensures that its expenditures stay within the local Bintulu economy. By engaging local troupes like the SUPP Youth, we support small-scale cultural enterprises and the local performance economy.
SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities: These celebrations are a cornerstone of our Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) initiatives. Allowing employees from diverse ethnic backgrounds to share in this tradition reduces “cultural gaps” and fosters a workplace built on mutual respect.
Looking Ahead with Vitality
The 2026 Lion Dance was more than a spectacle; it was a powerful reminder of the strength found in our diversity. By keeping local traditions alive within the industrial sector, PFA continues to strengthen the sense of belonging among our workforces. We move forward into the year with a renewed spirit of prosperity and a commitment to our stakeholders and the Bintulu community.
